Meet Sandy
Midwife Sandy Simoneaux, LM CPM
Hi there! I’m Sandy Simoneaux, a Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife serving families here in North Florida. This is home for me- I was born and raised here- and it means so much to care for families in the same community that shaped me. I walk alongside women and their families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a deep respect for their choices, and a genuine desire for them to feel safe, supported, and truly cared for.
My journey into birth work started back in 1999 when I was in college and began working as a doula for teen moms. I stayed in that role for 15 years, supporting families through some of the most important moments of their lives. From there, I transitioned into working as a birth assistant, where I spent another decade gaining hands-on clinical experience before eventually attending the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. Every step along the way has shaped how I care for families today.
Before midwifery, I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and worked for the Alzheimer’s Association, supporting families navigating caregiving and all the emotional layers that come with it. That work deeply impacted me—it taught me how to sit with people in vulnerable spaces, to listen well, and to show up with compassion.
My own life has also been shaped by birth. My husband and I were college sweethearts and have been married since 2001. We have four children (3 boys and 1 girl): all born into the hands of midwives. We’ve always homeschooled our children, and now the oldest two are in college at Liberty University (our alma mater), while two are still at home. This season of life has given me such a deep appreciation for family, flexibility, and what it really means to be supported.
My faith is the foundation of everything I do and everything that I am. In my local community, I serve alongside my church through food drives, outreach efforts, and simply being the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need support. I’ve also been deeply involved in a community in Haiti that has truly become like a second family to me. I help run a scholarship program there, serving on the board and working closely with the team to support over 1,000 students who otherwise would not have access to education. We also help meet medical needs and provide care for individuals and families who would not be able to access it otherwise.
At the heart of my practice, I simply want families to feel known and genuinely cared for. I care deeply about the people I serve, and I don’t take lightly the trust you place in me. I take time to really listen, to understand what matters to you, and to support you in a way that feels right for your family. This work is very personal to me, and I show up fully for it. My hope is that throughout your care, you feel safe, respected, and confident, like you’re not doing this alone.
When I’m not working, I’m at home with my family, usually cheering my kids on in whatever they’re passionate about at the moment. I love being together, building community, and staying connected to the people around me. And whenever I can, I sneak away to visit my college kids in Virginia. Life is full in the best way, surrounded by my husband, our kids, our golden retrievers, and our cats. I’m grateful every day for the work I get to do. The Lord has been so faithful to me and I’m forever humbled that this is how He’s called me to love others.
It would be an honor to be able to walk alongside you during such an important time.
To the families that grew me…
I’m humbled to know you welcomed me into such a vulnerable time in your lives. Thank you for allowing me the space to learn with grace. Thank you for treating me like a midwife, even before I was one officially. You’ve let me love on you, palpate your precious baby in your womb, take your vitals, and learn how to draw labs. There really are no words for the care you’ve shown me throughout my education. The patience you’ve granted, the newness you’ve welcomed, and the encouragement along the way; it’s all led me here. Never would I have made it if you all wouldn’t have provided a path for me. You all are treasured, never forgotten, and I love watching your babies grow up. May every student know this blessing.
To the midwives that made me…
Thank you for guiding me here. For allowing me to represent you, even if it was in simply assisting. For letting me be in a trusted space and as an extension of your name and reputation that you worked so hard to create. Thank you for teaching me, mentoring me and allowing me to learn who I am as a midwife and develop my own style of practice and caring for women. You’ve let me learn in a protected space, provided direction and feedback. I’ve been allowed to ask questions and also to learn for myself. I’d never be here if it wasn’t for you. I can’t thank you enough for your wisdom. May each of you be blessed richly.
